Houghton council to meet in person

HOUGHTON — The Houghton City Council will resume meeting in person this week.

Wednesday’s council meeting at 5:30 p.m. will be the first held in the council chambers since March, when executive orders from Gov. Gretchen Whitmer limited gathering sizes and allowed governmental bodies to meet electronically.

Attendees are asked to wear a mask. Chairs will be spaced for social distancing.

Business at Wednesday’s meeting includes a special use permit for Northern Specialty Health, as well as a public hearing on an amended Downtown Development Authority plan including $700,000 of public projects over the next decade.

A full meeting packet is available at cityofhoughton.com.
