HOUGHTON — Houghton police are looking for a person suspected of breaking and entering into the Suomi Home Bakery & Restaurant late Saturday night or early Sunday morning.

The suspect is a white male in his early 20s, wears glasses and might be named Kendrick, the Houghton Police Department said in a release. It was unclear if Kendrick was a first or last name, Houghton Police Chief John Donnelly.

Footages from the city’s camera system show a four-door black vehicle. Police said it may be a Chevrolet Impala with a sunroof, possibly from between 2017 and 2020.

The building showed signs of forced entry, but there was little damage inside, Donnelly said.

“We didn’t find anything that was taken,” he said. “At this point we’re not sure what their intent was, whether to break in and steal, or if they were just intoxicated, being more malicious than anything else.”

Anyone who can identify the person who may own or was driving the vehicle is asked to contact the Houghton Police Department at 482-2121.
