HOUGHTON — Jibba Jabba is back and better than ever. According to a release from Visit Keweenaw, the electrifying street-style snowboard competition is leveling up with a brand new Red Bull “Best Stomp” Showdown, throwing $750 for the cleanest, heaviest landings in each section. To crank the energy even higher, industry-famous MC Ryan Paul will be on the mic, hyping up the crowd and calling every insane trick.
Taking over Huron Street in downtown Houghton on Saturday, Feb. 15, Jibba Jabba will showcase an all-star lineup of riders from across the country performing under city lights.
With more than a thousand dollars in payouts for both the men’s and women’s champions and Red Bull’s new “Best Stomp” cash prize, this year’s event is stacking up to be the biggest yet.
With support from Jenn and Dustin Reed of Minnie Farms, Visit Keweenaw, City of Houghton and Red Bull – the free-to-watch event kicks off around 6 p.m. Downtown transforms into a high-energy arena where snowboarders shred for cash, glory and ultimate bragging rights.
