DOLLAR BAY – For over a decade years Ward’s Husqvarna in Dollar Bay has served the Copper Country, providing products, services and parts for Husqvarna and more. When he purchased an existing business 12 years ago, owner Ward Erickson changed the name and expanded the service to cover more equipment. Today, Ward’s Husqvarna offers products and services for many different makes and models.

“We service all makes and models of equipment,” said Ward, owner of Ward’s Husqvarna. “We also service compact tractors.”

Even if a customer needs work done on equipment that was not purchased at or is not carried by Ward’s Husqvarna, they are able to work on those items. The mechanics at Ward’s have years of experience to help them service many different makes and models.

“We stock a lot of parts for the products – lots of parts and lots of service experience,” Ward said. “We have 40 years combined experience between our two mechanics.”

Some of the equipment they service includes:

chainsaws

trimmers

mowers, both push and riding

snow throwers

water pumps

leaf blowers

wood splitters

There is no need to make an appointment to have equipment looked at – customers can just bring it in. If it is not convenient to come to the store, Ward’s also offers pick up and delivery service.

“People can just bring in their equipment, but we do offer pick up and delivery service,” Ward said.

In addition to servicing equipment, Ward’s stocks and sells equipment and gear from multiple name brands.

“We sell Husqvarna and Stihl products,” Ward said. “We also have Oregon products, Dixie and Fiskars.”

Ward’s Husqvarna also carries parts for the equipment so upkeep on the products is easier.

As the weather gets colder people working outside will need special gear to keep them warm.

“We do handle winter gloves by Kinko and insulated, heavy-duty work snow pants,” Ward said.

When asked why he bought the business and continues to run it 12 years later, Ward’s answer was simple.

“I guess it’s just something I’ve always wanted to do,” he said.
