CALUMET TOWNSHIP – A Calumet man reported missing on April 4 was found dead at a campsite near the Swedetown Trails, according to a press release.

At about 4:30 p.m. Tuesday, a man walking a dog found 44-year-old Joseph Kopp unresponsive at the camp site, and went back to his vehicle to call police. Troopers responded to the scene.

It appears Kopp had been camping in a wooded area since walking away from the Westside Group Home in Calumet.

Cause of death is unknown, but foul play is not suspected. An autopsy will be conducted.
