Drug Bust: Two arrested in Atlantic Mine UPSET operation
HOUGHTON – Two local men were arrested for possession of methamphetamine and heroin in Atlantic Mine Monday as part of an Upper Peninsula Substance Enforcement Team investigation.
UPSET detectives executed search warrants at adjacent residences, at which they seized crystal meth and heroin. Officers seized about 2 grams combined, said Nicole Gregory of UPSET.
Both men were lodged in the Houghton County Jail. Their names are being withheld pending arraignment.
Gregory said UPSET is not releasing information yet on the intended path of the drugs.
Assisting UPSET were the Houghton and Marquette County sheriff’s departments, Michigan Tech Public Safety and the Michigan State Police Calumet and Gladstone posts.
The investigation remains ongoing.
