City accepts foreclosed property

At its Wednesday meeting, the Hancock City Council also approved accepting the donation from Wells Fargo of a foreclosed house at 932 Prospect Street. City Manger Glenn Anderson said although the house’s exterior may not look good, it has undergone extensive rehabilitation, including utilities.

“There’s more positives than negatives about it,” he said.

Anderson said if the city owned the house it could either be put to some use for the city or it could be sold later.

Council members voted unanimously to accept the donation of the house.
