Daily Trail Report – Thurs., Dec. 15, 2016

Cross-Country Skiing

Swedetown – Grooming suspended due to dangerous conditions.

Chassell – Trails rolled; hope to set tracks soon.

MTU Nara Trails – Main trails tiled and track set. Tolkein Trails tracked and packed. Lights on until 9.

Maasto Hiihto – All trails rolled for maintenance during  Tuesday storm.

Churning rapids snow bike trail – Too much fresh snow fall to establish a bike-able trail. Trails will be open for our demo event Saturday, Dec. 17.

Downhill Skiing

Mont Ripley: Opening set for Friday. Please call ahead.

Mount Bohemia: Opening Dec. 26.

  

Snowmobiling

Snowmobile trails from Twin Lakes to Copper Harbor are open and in fair condition.

Snowmobiles can now cross the Portage Lift Bridge. The mat is not down yet.

Trail 122 is closed for logging. Snowmobilers can take trail 124 to Gay.

Trail usage should be done with extreme caution due to wet spots, rocks, stumps, branches and other unidentified hazards. Trail groomers have the right of way.

Stay on trails, stay off the ice, respect private property, do not drink and drive and drive safely. Do not remove or destroy trail signs.
