Daily Trail Report – Thurs., Dec. 22, 2016

Cross-Country Skiing

Swedetown – Trails tilled, tracked but tracks blowing in quickly. Temps are great.

Chassell – Trails rolled and tracked, excellent condition.

MTU Nara Trails – Main trails tilled, track set. Excellent conditions.

Maasto Hiihto – All trails groomed and tracked Tuesday except River Trail (4) north of Tomasi Road where a wet spot remains an issue. Wind likely to blow in the trails quickly today.

Churning rapids snow bike trail – Trails groomed after Wednesday night snow.

Downhill Skiing

Mont Ripley: Open with nine runs, teo lifts, 37 inch base. Call for hours.

Mount Bohemia: Opening Dec. 26.

  

Snowmobiling

Snowmobile trails from Twin Lakes to Copper Harbor are open and in fair to good condition. Snowmobiles can now cross the Portage Lift Bridge. The mat is scheduled to go down this week.

Trail 122 is closed for logging. Snowmobilers can take trail 124 to Gay.

Trail usage should be done with extreme caution due to unidentified hazards. Trail groomers have the right of way.

Stay on trails, stay off the ice, respect private property, do not drink and drive and drive safely. Do not remove or destroy trail signs.
