Keweenaw Trail Report – Mon., Dec. 12, 2016

KEWEENAW CONVENTION & VISITORS BUREAU – Snowmobile trails from Twin Lakes to Copper Harbor are open and trails are in fair condition.

 

You will not be able to cross the Portage Life Bridge until between Dec. 15 and 18. Please watch for updates about the bridge.

Any trail usage should be done with extreme caution should be done with extreme caution as there are wet spots, rocks, stumps, branches and other unidentified hazards.

Remember to watch for groomers on trails. They have the right of way.

The Keweenaw Convention and Visitors Bureau asks that you stay on the trails, stay off the ice, respect private property, do not drink and drive and drive safely. Do not remove or destroy trail signs.

Swedetown broke out the new Husky. All trails tilled, tracked and in excellent condition.

Michigan Tech main trails are groomed with classic track on all loops. Very good conditions. Light on until 9 p.m.. Tolkein Trails are not groomed.

Chassell trails have been rolled. There is a lot of water seeping onto the trails, so trails are not good for skiing yet.

Maasto Hiihto and Churning Rapids are all rolled with some wet spots and the occasional rock.

Mont Ripley has a tentative opening day of Friday. Please call ahead.

Mount Bohemia expects to be open by Dec. 26. Check back for more details.
