HANCOCK — A possible telephone scam is making the rounds in Hancock and Houghton regarding a request for money to support sports at Hancock Public Schools, about which Monica Healy wants people to be aware.

Healy, who is Hancock Public Schools superintendent, said she received a call from a Houghton resident who said she received many calls from a person claiming to be with All American Sports in Wisconsin asking for donations to support the school’s sport programs.

Healy said the school is not using All American Sports for fundraising, and anyone receiving calls from someone claiming to be with the organization should not send them any money.
