‘The Messenger’ to be shown by Green Film Series

The Green Film Series will present The Messenger from 7 to 8:30 on Monday, April 17, in G002 Hesterberg Hall, in the Michigan Technological University Forestry Building.

The Messenger is based upon the award-winning book, Silence of the Songbirds. The Messenger is an investigation into the causes of songbird mass depletion, and the people who are working to turn the tide. The film takes viewers on a visually stunning, emotional journey revealing how issues facing birds also pose daunting implications to our planet.

Coffee and refreshments, provided by Keweenaw Land Trust, will be available. There will also be a discussion, facilitated by Professor David Flashpohler of the School of Forest Recourses and Environmental Science.

Admission is free, but a $3 suggested donation is appreciated. The Green Film Series is co-sponsored by the Lake Superior Stewardship Initiative, Michigan Tech Great Lakes Research Center, and the Keweenaw Unitarian Fellowship, and the Keweenaw Land Trust.
