The Daily Mining Gazette has debuted a new publication, the Keweenaw Connection.

In addition to all the local news, weather and sports in the Copper Country, the new publication will feature products and services provided by local merchants and businesses in the region, said Randy Cutright, the Daily Mining Gazette’s publisher.

“We’re hoping to get something out there that readers can use,” he said.

Copies of the Keweenaw Connection will be available for free wherever the Gazette is sold across Baraga, Houghton, Keweenaw and Ontonagon counties every Tuesday.

Home delivery is not available.

Inside its pages are puzzles, light reading and local advertising.

The Gazette is holding a contest for readers to create the logo for the new publication. Entries will be reviewed by Gazette staff and the chosen logo will run on the Keweenaw Connection’s masthead. The winner will also recieve a gift card to a local grocery store.
