Hancock selects old, new, old/new council members

HANCOCK — Two incumbents, one former incumbent and one newcomer were elected Tuesday to the Hancock City Council.

Two of the seats had incumbent candidates John Haeussler and Paul LaBine running for their seats.

Haeussler received 1,006 votes and LaBine took home 989.

New to the council was Will Lytle, who received 891 votes.

Former councilor John Slivon made his comeback for a two-year term representing the Third Ward with 411 votes.

The city will hold a special organizational meeting Nov. 14 at 5 p.m. to select the next mayor and mayor pro-tem.

Mayor Lisa McKenzie and Mayor Pro-Tem Ted Belej, longtime council members who served in the roles, chose not to run again for their seats on the council.
