Share the joy of the season with a Santa Parade

CALUMET — Main Street Calumet and the Village of Laurium are extending an invitation to all local businesses, organizations, families, musicians and bands to enter a decorated float, snowmobile, tractor or other mobile unit in the parade. Lights, bells, Santa’s, and all other holiday characters are welcome! Due to the probability of cold weather and the length of the route parade entrants are asked not to have walking entries.

Whether you plan to watch from the sidelines or ride on a float we ask all participants to respect social distancing and wear a mask.

The parade will begin at 4 p.m. at M-26/Hecla and Lake Linden Avenue in Laurium. The parade will then proceed north on Hecla/M-26, and turns west (left) onto M-26/3rd street in Laurium. The parade will then cross HWY-41 onto Depot St., then right onto Mine St. and left onto Red Jacket Road. The parade will continue onto 5th St. ending at Elm St.

For those participating, line up begins at 3 p.m. along Kearsarge St. at the intersection of Lake Linden Avenue in Laurium.

There is no cost to participate. If interested in participating or sponsoring the Santa Parade contact Leah Polzien at Main Street Calumet at 906-337-6246 or email info@mainstreetcalumet.com before Wednesday, Dec. 16.
