Red Cross makes plea for disaster response volunteers

As you are aware, there are a large number of Disasters Response Operations (DROs) ongoing across the United States. In Oregon alone, there may be up to 500,000 people being displaced and heading to shelters because of the wildfires. There are also fires in California, Washington State, and the ongoing Hurricane response in Louisiana and Texas. The need is great everywhere and we need to find individuals willing to deploy.

Shelter workers are a huge need right now. The combination of wild fires and the hurricane season on top of a pandemic means we need a higher than normal number of volunteers. Volunteers will complete trainings now and when the need arises you will be deployed to a DRO (Disaster Response Operation). Deployments are typically two weeks and you can expect to work 8–12 hours a day. Contact Lee at lee.borofka@redcross.org or call 920.737.9974 for more information.
