Keweenaw Lions Club hear about ‘No Kid Without a Christmas’

This December, ‘No Kid Without a Christmas’ will be in it’s 21st year, providing the magic of Christmas to kids who would otherwise be without. Keweenaw County Clerk, Julie Carlson and Sheriff Bill Luokkanen made a presentation on the program to the Keweenaw Lions Club during their monthly meeting, Nov. 4 at Slim’s Cafe in Mohawk.

In addition to a food card to provide a Christmas dinner for the family, children receive not just toys but necessities such as clothing and personal care items. 35 to 45 families are served each year through the generosity of local community members and businesses.

If you are able to share a few bucks to help provide a special day for a child, the Keweenaw County Sheriff’s office would appreciate any contribution. Checks can be made out to ‘Sheriff’s Toy Drive’, Keweenaw County, 5105 4th St., Eagle River MI 49950.
