Local VA Clinic in need of volunteers

IRON MOUNTAIN – The VA Community Based Outpatient Clinic (CBOC) in Hancock is seeking your help to serve Veterans! Volunteers are needed to assist patients with kiosk check in, escort patients to exam rooms and support office tasks.

“Volunteers are such a critical part of the continuum of care in the VA system,” says Katie Maxon, Chief, Voluntary Service.

“While they provide support and assistance to staff in their role, it’s their connection and interactions with patients and guests that really augment the Veteran experience,” Maxon added.

Individuals interested in volunteering will have to commit to traveling to the Iron Mountain VA Medical Center for enrollment and orientation, but will work in the local CBOC once vetted.

To initiate the volunteer enrollment process, simply contact the Voluntary Service Office at (906) 774-3300, x32780 or email jennifer.maxon@va.gov to receive an application packet or contact us for more information.
