Glen A. Edgar

LANCASTER, Ohio – Glen A. Edgar, 63, of Lancaster, Ohio, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, September 21, 2016, at his residence.

He was born March 19, 1953, in Hancock, the son of the late James (Dorothy) Edgar and Martha (Paul) Dostaler.

Glen graduated from Dollar Bay High School in 1971 and went on to obtain his Associate of Civil Engineering Technology and Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering degrees from Michigan Technological University.

He began his career as a land surveyor and went on to work for Underwriters Laboratories in Northbrook, Illinois, Selkirk Corp. in Logan, Ohio and Hart & Cooley in Grand Rapids.

Throughout his successful career, Glen traveled extensively, and served on various technical, safety certification and codes/standards committees. In 2013, Glen proudly launched VenTech Consulting Ltd., utilizing his extensive research and development-related career experience in the hearth product, HVAC and commercial venting system industry.

Glen was a devoted and caring husband, father, grandfather “buppa,” brother and friend.

He will be deeply missed by his wife of 41 years, Mary (Holombo) Edgar; children, Megan Edgar of Lancaster, Ryan Edgar of Richfield, Ohio and Brandon Edgar (fiancee Jenny Balingcongan) of Columbus, Ohio; granddaughter, Madelyn Edgar of Lancaster; brother, James (Kathy) Edgar of Glendale Heights, Illinois; mother-in-law, Theresa Holombo; brother-in-law, Daniel Holombo of Dollar Bay; sister-in-law, Cheryl Koepel of Bexley, Ohio; aunt, Shirley Wetton of Dollar Bay; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends that became family.

Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by his brothers, Gary and David Edgar.

The light of Glen’s life was his granddaughter, Madelyn, and he lived for their many adventures.

As an athlete in his younger years, Glen competed in a number of sports and was an avid runner, completing 13 marathons. As an athletic fan his whole life, he loved attending all kinds of sporting events, both for the kids and with the kids. These memories, and those of travels, wine tastings, Disney World, UFC fights, theatre and concerts are among some of the best.

Funeral service and a celebration of Glen’s life will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, September 26, 2016, at Sheridan Funeral Home, 222 S. Columbus St., Lancaster, Ohio, with Father James Walter officiating, cremation to follow.

Family will receive friends from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Sunday, September 25, 2016 and on Monday, September 26, 2016, at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions may be made to FairHoPe Hospice, in Lancaster, Ohio and Omega House, in Houghton.

Marilyn J. Kuebler

Marilyn J. Kuebler (nee Gipp) suddenly after spending 11 years as Cubs Usher passed away.

She was the beloved wife of the late Clint Kuebler and Edward J. Bessner, Sr.; loving mother of Kimberly Peterson, Edward J. (Sue) Bessner, Jr., Kathleen J. Bessner and Dean J. Bessner: dear grandmother of 12 and great-grandmother of 2; fond sister of Ronald R. Gipp.

Visitation will be at Cooney Funeral Home, 3918 W. Irving Park Rd., Chicago, on Friday, September 23, 2016, from 3 p.m. to 9 p.m.

The funeral service will be on Saturday, September 24, 2016, at 11:45 a.m. at the funeral home. Interment will be at Irving Park Cemetery.
