She was born September 18, 1920, in Detroit, the middle child of Joseph and Agnes (Rybicki) Borchacz.

Her loving husband, Warren, taught her riveting at City Airport in Detroit, where they fell in love and she joined the war effort of WWII by becoming an iconic “Rosie the Riveter” at Woodall’s.

Helping others was her lifelong mantra, reflected in the jobs she had before the war. Babysitting, working the jewelry counter at Grant’s Department Store, Recreational Therapist at Children’s Hospital in Detroit and of course, riveting.

On March 27, 1945, she married her loving husband, Warren, while he was on furlough from the war. While Warren worked at Pontiac Motors, she was busy making a home and raising children.

Her special interests and hobbies included, coordinating and decorating for the neighborhood association dances, cake decorating, bowling, quilting and many other crafts. Her loving touch was felt by all the families in the neighborhood, where she and Warren made lifelong friends.

After retiring, she and Warren moved to Independence Village in Frankenmuth. There they made many friends and enjoyed then numerous activities that were offered, especially the dances.

They especially enjoyed traveling to visit family and friends in Arizona, Florida, North Carolina, Kansas and Williamsburg, Virginia. Their most loved trip was to Hawaii, where they enjoyed the relaxing atmosphere along with the natural beauty of the Islands.

In 2009, after losing her husband, she moved to Eagle Harbor, where she lived with her daughter and son-in-law. Still making and selling her crafts, playing cards and enjoying “God’s Country” in the Keweenaw. In March of 2015, she moved to Garden View Assisted Living and Memory Care where she made many friends and lived out the rest of her life.
