Floyd J. Forcia, Sr.

L’ANSE – Floyd Joseph Forcia, Sr., 85, of L’Anse, passed away on Tuesday, November 15, 2016, at The Lighthouse of Hancock.

He was born November 6, 1931, in Assinins and attended school there.

He was in the U.S. Army from 1948 to 1952.

Floyd worked at the White Pine Copper Mine. Then he moved to Flint, where he worked for Grand Trunk Railroad and construction until he took a job with GM where he retired from in 1988. He then moved back to L’Anse.

Floyd was a member of K.B.I.C. and Ojibwa Seniors. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, working on cars and tinkering in his garage.

Surviving are his son, Floyd Jr. of L’Anse; daughters, Vicky Forcia of Flint, Sherry Lynn (Jack) Martin of Clio, Faye Ann (Rusty) Hallett of Davison; sisters, Laura Lee and Anna Nobel both of Flint; nine grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.

Preceding him in death are his parents; siblings, Pauline Harrington, Irene Vuk, Celia Mayo, Mildred LaFernier, Jack Forcia and Clarence Forcia.

Visitation will be on Friday, November 18, 2016, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Jacobson Funeral Home. His funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. with Deacon John Cadeau officiating.
