Mary M. Barrette

CALUMET — Mary M. Barrette, 71, a former resident of Calumet, passed away peacefully with her family by her side on Tuesday, November 22, 2016, at U.P. Health System-Portage.

She was born on April 25, 1945, in Lake Linden, to Wilfred and Bernadette (Baillargeon) Fountaine. She attended the local schools.

Mary loved to play games. Some of her favorites were yahtzee, bingo and numerous card games. She also enjoyed cooking.

Her grandkids and great-grandkids were the love of her life. She enjoyed spending as much time with them as she could.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Wilfred and Bernadette; three sisters, Joanne Rheault, Theresa Hodge, Suzanne Tadych; and a close friend, Carl Lakner.

She is survived by her husband, Jerry Barrette of Calumet; her daughter, Cathy (Glenn) Rowe of Calumet; grandchildren, John (Emilee) Rowe of Calumet, Josh Rowe of Calumet; great-grandchildren, Jacalyn, Layla and Eliza Rowe; sister, Carol (Mike) Jampsa of Calumet; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Friends may call at the Erickson Crowley Peterson Funeral Home in Calumet on Monday, November 28, 2016, from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m.

Funeral services will be held at 12 p.m. on Monday, November 28, 2016, at 12 p.m. with Father Abraham Mupparathara to officiate.
