Wendy Ann Knudsen

HANCOCK – Wendy Ann Knudsen, 41, of Hancock, entered eternal life Monday evening, November 14, 2016, at UP Health System – Marquette.

Born June 23, 1975, in Pontiac, a daughter of Lawrence and Theresa (Finlan) LaPointe, Wendy was raised in Waterford, moving to Linden as a small child.

She was a 1993 graduate of Linden High School and followed her dream of becoming a beautician by enrolling in cosmetology school.

She received her certification as a licensed cosmetologist and was self-employed until 2011.

In 2005, Wendy relocated to the Houghton-Hancock area, currently residing in Hancock. She had been in ill health since 2008.

In her leisure, Wendy enjoyed keeping up with the latest trends and styles in cosmetology, caring for her canine pals, Van and Dylan and collecting Precious Moments figurines and perfume bottles.

She was a loving, caring individual who treasured family and friends, often with a spunky, determined style and happy outlook on life.

Wendy is survived by her husband, William R. Knudsen, who she married March 27, 2015 in Marquette; her daughter, Madison LaPointe of Hancock; her father, Lawrence A. LaPointe, Sr. of Gaines; a brother, Larry (Kathryn) LaPointe II of Linden; brother-in-law, Joseph (Robyn) Knudsen of New Richmond, Wisconsin; and sister-in-law, Stephanie Meier of Wausau, Wisconsin; and many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.

Wendy was preceded in death by her mother, Theresa LaPointe; her in-laws, Allen and Patricia Knudsen; a brother-in-law, James Meier; and Madison’s father, James Chandler.

The family will receive relatives and friends at the Fassbender Funeral Home on Saturday, November 19, 2016, beginning at 11 a.m. until the time of service at 12 p.m.
