John ‘Les’ Leslie Randell

GLADSTONE — John “Les” Leslie Randell passed away peacefully at home on November 26, 2016.

Les was born February 2, 1932, in Laurium, the son of William and Helen (Kumlin) Randell.

He graduated from Calumet High School and he received his B.S. aeronautical engineering degree from Northrop Aeronautical University. He helped put the first man on the moon.

He is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Colleen (Collins) Randell; one daughter, Linda (Lee) Spaude; three sons, Leslie Randell, David Randell and Dean (Laura) Randell. He also leaves behind nine grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; one brother, Edward Randell; two sisters, June (Ray) Strobel and Donna May Renn.

Les was loved very much by his family and friends and will be greatly missed.

The family is planning a private memorial service at Lakeview Cemetery in Calumet in the Summer of 2017.

The Skradski Family Funeral Homes of Escanaba and Gladstone are assisting the family.
