Thomas Francis Corrigan, Sr.

BOOTJACK – Thomas Francis Corrigan, Sr., 90, of Bootjack, passed away unexpectedly at Aspirus Keweenaw Hospital in Laurium, on January 25, 2017, with his family by his side.

He was born on April 27, 1926, in Ashland, Wisconsin, a son of Maurice and Agnes Corrigan. He attended schools in Kingsford.

He joined the Air Force in W.W.II, where he trained as an Air Traffic Controller.

He worked at the Houghton County Airport, retiring in 1981.

He was married to Jeanette Johnson at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Calumet, on April 29, 1950.

He was a member of Saint Joseph Catholic Church in Lake Linden.

Thomas loved his family. He always had a German Shepherd by his side. He was proud of his Irish heritage.

He was preceded in death by his parents; sister; Shirley and twin sister, Jane.

He is survived by his wife, Jeanette of Bootjack; six children, Thomas (Pat) of Chassell, Lawrence (Cecelia) of Bootjack, Michael (Nancy) of Bootjack, Edwin (Darlene) of Bootjack, Diane “Sissy” (Donald) Wareham of Tamarack and Linda (Joe) Schneller of Bootjack; 16 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; sister, Pat Rogalla of Wausau, Wisconsin; a brother, George (Virginia) Corrigan of Florida; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. on Monday, January 30, 2017, at Saint Joseph Church in Lake Linden, with Fr. Joseph Boakye Yiadom to officiate.

Burial will be at the Mount Calvary Cemetery.

The Pearce Funeral Home in Lake Linden is assisting the family.
