V. Roger Little

CALUMET – V. Roger Little, 79, a resident of Calumet, passed away on Monday, January 2, 2017, at UP Health System-Marquette.

He was born on March 27, 1937, in Logan, Ohio, to Eugene and Hazel (Brown) Little. Roger attended Almont High School and graduated with the Class of 1955.

Following graduation, Roger enlisted with the United States Army, serving from 1956 to 1959.

Roger learned printing and photography from his father. He worked in various printing shops in Lower Michigan.

Roger moved to Calumet in 1967, where he worked at Book Concern. He then purchased Keweenaw Printing, which later became Keweenaw Studios. Roger retired from Keweenaw Studios in 2001.

Roger had great love for his children and grandchildren.

He loved the outdoors. While enjoying the outdoors you could find him hunting, fishing and doing what he did best, taking pictures of the wildlife that surrounded him. He also enjoyed bowling, golfing and hanging out with his morning coffee klatch.

On November 7, 1975, he married Millie Hendrickson at the Congregational Church in Calumet.

Roger was a member of the Calumet United Methodist Church, the Wednesday Night bowling league and the Thursday Night Senior League, both at Millers Lanes.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Eugene and Hazel; brother, Roy; daughter, Sheila; sister-in-law, B’Ann; brother-in-law, Don; and nephew, David.

He is survived by his loving wife, Millie Little of Calumet; his children, Scott Little of Niagara, Wisconsin, Sheryl (Roger) Endl of Gainsville, Florida, son-in-law, Mike Crudele of Valrico, Florida, Chris (Leanne) Little of Marquette, Derik Little of Stevensville, Tera (Tony) DuBord of Eagan, Minnesota, Nate Little of Whitefish, Montana, Nicci (Don) Verran of Atlantic Mine; 14 grandchildren, five great-grandchildren; brothers, Ron (Pat) Little of Rodney, Rick Little of Lansing; sisters, Shelley (Joe) Dana of Quincy, Birdie Cross of Lansing; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, January 7, 2017, at 11 a.m. at the Calumet United Methodist Church with Pastor Jayme Palaszeski to officiate.

Friends may call at the Erickson Crowley Peterson Funeral Home on Friday, January 6, 2017, from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. and at the Calumet United Methodist Church on Saturday, January 7, 2017, from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m.

In lieu of other expressions of sympathy, friends may send donations in memory of Roger to the Calumet Golf Club for the purchase of trees for the golf course, Calumet Golf Club, P.O. Box 168, Calumet, 49913.
