Honey Ellen Ward Kaufmann McDonnell

She was born in Hancock, the daughter of the late T.R. and Beatrice Ward. She was also preceded in passing by her husband, Herbert “Bud” McDonnell; a son, Bruce Kaufmann; and two siblings.

Honey is survived by her daughter, Kim Elliott of Portage; granddaughters, Emily (James) Horein, Jenica (Garrett) Polifka; two great-granddaughters, Evie and Kaiah Polifka.

Honey will always be remembered for her “gratitude-attitude.”

She had a lovely voice and was a Big Band singer in college. She loved her family and enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

In accordance with her wishes, cremation will take place and she will be laid to rest in her beloved Keweenaw Peninsula.
