Agnes R. (Plute) Thomson

CALUMET — Agnes R. (Plute) Thomson, 92, longtime resident of Calumet passed away peacefully January 20, 2018, in Antigo, Wisconsin, with her family by her side.

Agnes was born June 20, 1925, in Calumet to the late John and Katherine (Strucel) Plute.

She was the last surviving sibling of 12 children, Katherine, Anne, Christina, Marie, Joseph, Leo, Fran, John, Josephine, Mary and Barbara.

Agnes was a member of St. Paul, the Apostle Church. She was famous for her baking skills, especially “Povetica.” She was also an expert seamstress. Always full of life and energy, Agnes enjoyed nothing more than spending time with family and friends. Wherever she went, she made people smile. With her lively exuberance for life, Agnes never knew a stranger and will be dearly missed by all who knew her.

Surviving are her children, Shirley Zaetz of Baltimore, Maryland, Mary Cooper of Antigo, Wisconsin, and Rosemary (Dan) Leveque of Calumet, six grandchildren, Alison (Zaetz) Lombel, Mark Zaetz, Jamie (Cooper) Wojan, Cherie Cooper, Michelle LeVeque and Mark LeVeque, four grandchildren, Tommy, Robbie, Ruby, Theo and Derek.

A celebration of her life will be held at the Siskiwit Hall located adjacent to Erickson Crowley Funeral Home in Calumet on June 23, 2018, from 1 p.m. until 4 p.m.
