Alice L. Clishe

SKANEE — Alice L. Clishe, 65 of Skanee, passed away on Saturday, January 20, 2018, at Houghton County Medical Care Facility.

She was born October 30, 1952, in Pensacola, Florida, daughter of Arthur and Gloria (Manners) Peymbroeck. As a daughter of a Navy Seabee, Alice lived in various places including Alabama, Italy, Florida, California, Washington, Hawaii, Mississippi and Michigan. In 1969 they moved to Lake Linden.

On December 18, 1971, she married Daniel Clishe in Laurium, and they resided in L’Anse until 1980 when they moved to Skanee. She attended Suomi College for two years. Alice worked as a CNA at Bayside Village, then at the Huron Trading Post for two years, and she and Dan owned Studio 1 DJ service.

Alice was a member of Holy Cross Lutheran Church in Baraga and was formerly on the church council for Holy Cross and Zion Lutheran Church in Skanee and was active in their Sunday School programs. She was active in the Arvon Elementary School Booster Club, and was a leader of a 4-H Club. Alice loved music and animals. She had a Hobby Farm with horses, donkey, ducks, and chickens. Alice and Dan loved traveling in their motor home.

Surviving are her husband Dan of Skanee; daughters, Danielle Clishe of Baraga, Jamie Clishe of Minneapolis; brother, Nelson (Linnea) Peymbroeck of Holt; sister, Cindy (Brian) Jasberg of Peoria, Illinois; grandchildren, Felicity, Brittany, Tobie Lias of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania; numerous nieces and nephews.

Preceding her in death are her parents; infant son, Joseph Daniel Clishe; and grandson, Christopher Clishe.

Visitation will be on Wednesday, January 24, 2018 from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. at Jacobson Funeral Home. The funeral service will be at 1 p.m. at the funeral home with Rev. Julie Belew officiating. Burial will be in the spring in the Lakeview Cemetery in Calumet.
