Kevin Eric Aho

HOUGHTON — Kevin Eric Aho, 61, of Houghton, passed away on Wednesday, March 14, 2018, at UP Health-Marquette.

He was born April 15, 1956, in Aurora, Illinois, son of Reuben and Bertha (Lahti) Aho.

Kevin moved to Elo in 1965 where he attended the John A. Doelle School in Tapiola and graduated from Baraga High School in 1974.

He was in the US Army from June 1974 to June 1978.

Kevin trained as a machinist through MTU. He worked for UP Engineering, then as a logger in partnership with his cousin Frank Luoto. He also worked on Isle Royale on the docks for seven years, retiring in 2006.

He enjoyed hunting, fishing, trapping, amateur gunsmithing and making fishing lures. Kevin was a past member of the VFW post in Alston and Otter Lake Sportsman Club.

Surviving are his sister, Pauline (Michael) Bradley of Pelkie; his nieces and nephews, Jennifer (Dave) Salo of Chassell, Peter (Hannah) Kolehmainen of Driggs, Idaho, Mary Bausano of Mount Pleasant, South Carolia, Matthew Bradley of Houghton; as well as numerous great nieces, nephews and cousins.

He is preceded in death by his parents.

Visitation will be on Tuesday, March 20, 2018, from 12 p.m. to 1 p.m.

A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. at Jacobson Funeral Home. Rev. Dave Hoskins will officiate.

A luncheon and fellowship will follow in The Sharing Room at Jacobson Funeral Home.

Burial will be in the spring in the Elo Cemetery.
