Wilbert E. Leino
WALLACE — Wilbert E. Leino, 89, of Wallace, passed away on Wednesday, September 5, 2018, at Bay Area Medical Center.
He was born on May 17, 1929, in Covington, to the late Eino and Helmi (Mattson) Leino.
On May 7, 1977, he married Sharon Brown at the Summer Place in Chassell.
Wilbert was a carpenter and built many homes and businesses in Ontonagon, Baraga, and Houghton Counties, also many places in Florida.
He was a member of the Stephenson United Methodist Church of Stephenson.
Wilbert is survived by his wife, Sharon, of 41 years; two sons, John (Sandy) Leino and Daniel (Elaine) Leino both of Kalamazoo; a stepdaughter, Gretchen (Jeff) Peters of Kingsford; three grandchildren, Amanda, Alex and Katie; and many nephews.
Wilbert was preceded in death by two brothers, Ralph and Leslie; and his Seeing Eye dog, Lilly.
Visitation for Wilbert will be on Tuesday, September 11, 2018, at the Stephenson United Methodist Church in Stephenson, beginning at 10 a.m. until time of funeral service at 10:30 a.m. with Pastor Jim Matthews officiating.
Burial will follow immediately in the Covington Cemetery.
