Gayle E. Yeshe

She was born on November 3, 1942, in Cleveland, Ohio, daughter to Gaylord and Mary (Smith) Chapin. Gayle was raised and graduated high school in Hibbing, Minnesota.

On January 5, 1962, Gayle married Richard “Dick” Yeshe in Hibbing, Minnesota. He preceded her in death on November 15, 2010.

Over the years, Gayle worked for Dr. Beauchamp as a receptionist in the purchasing department for Pisces Industries and then St. Francis Hospital, retiring in 2012.

She enjoyed cooking and spending time with friends and family. Gayle volunteered for the Delta County Victim Service’s Unit, St. Francis Hospital, Delta County Historical Society and the Bark River School Reading Buddies.

Among survivors include her son, John Yeshe (fiance, Cheri Lind) of Chassell; grandchildren, Richard Yeshe (Alexis Schilling) of Wausau, Wisconsin and Rebecca Yeshe (E.J. Russell); great grandson, Matthew Yeshe of Wausau, Wisconsin; siblings, Tony (Sandy) Chapin of Grand Rapids, Minnesota and Mary Claire (Steve) Koskovich of Hibbing, Minnesota; and 12 nieces and nephews.

Gayle was preceded in death by her parents, Gaylord and Mary; and husband, Dick.

Visitation will be on Saturday, December 8, 2018 from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m., at the Crawford Funeral Home, 302 S. 13th St., Escanaba. The funeral service will follow at 4 p.m. with Pastor Dave Whitaker officiating, from Houghton Baptist Church. A meal will follow the service in the funeral home dining area.

Burial will take place in South Ford River Cemetery in the spring.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Delta County Sheriff Department Victim Service’s Unit. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
