James F. Rivest

He was born August 1, 1950, at Keweenaw Memorial Hospital in Laurium, to Gertrude and the late Fran Rivest.

Jim graduated from Dollar Bay High School with the Class of 1968.

Following high school, he entered the U.S. Navy, where he served from 1968 to 1972.

He married Laura Johnson, on September 17, 1971. Jim worked at Louie’s Super-Valu for 47 years.

He enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening, and spending time with his family.

Jim is survived by his wife, Laura; his mother, Gertrude; three children, Kim, Jamie (Katie) and Dawn (Ralph); three grandchildren, Cooper, Gracey and Livia, Cecilia, and Maggie; one brother, Bill (Holly); many nieces and nephews; and other relatives and friends.

Jim was preceded in death by his father, Fran; and brother, Donald.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, December 28, 2018, at St. Joseph Church in Lake Linden at 11 a.m.

The family wishes to extend special thanks to all of the staff at Aurora Bay Care Medical Center and Hospice in Green Bay, Wisconsin.
