Matthew J. Banovetz

He was born in Calumet on June 1, 1939, a son of Matthew and Agnes Banovetz and attended Sacred Heart School.

Matt was employed in numerous jobs in the local area and served in the U.S. Army and the Michigan National Guard.

He was preceded in death by his mother, father and brother, John.

He is survived by his sons, Joseph (Marjorie) of Laurium, and Michael (Ursulla) of Eagle River, Alaska; his grandchildren, Kyle, Jordan, Jonathan and Sasha; and cousin, Michael (Kathee) Banovetz of lower Michigan.

Funeral services are scheduled for Thursday, December 6, 2018, at 11 a.m. at the Ryan Funeral Home with Deacon Art Stancher to officiate. Visitation is scheduled for one hour prior to service.
