Carol Ann (Peltomaa) Gazvoda

She was born on September 20, 1950, in Hancock, the first child of Ruth (Kallungi) and William Peltomaa. She grew up in Chassell, attending the Chassell elementary and high schools, and Suomi (Finlandia) College in Hancock.

Carol worked for Superior National Bank from the time of her graduation until she retired as an officer in 2008.

On June 30, 1979, she married Lud Gazvoda, and resided in Chassell, raising their son, Rudy.

They enjoyed traveling, boating, snowmobiling, motorcycling, and spending time with their families and friends. After retirement, she and Lud spent the winters in Jensen Beach Florida, increasing their circle of friends.

Carol was preceded in death by her parents, Ruth and William Peltomaa; and her father-in-law and mother-in-law, Albert and Marie Gazvoda.

Carol leaves behind her husband, Lud, the love of her life; their son, Rudy, the pride of her life, his wife, Abby, and their children, Maggie, Max and Jackson, the joy of her life; her sisters, Gail (Mark) Johnson, Judy Peltomaa, Lois (Chris) Raymond; her brother, David (Stacie) Peltomaa; and her brother-in-law, Charles (Debbie) Gazvoda. Also surviving are seven nieces and nephews and their families, and many cousins.

A memorial service will be held at Zion Lutheran Church in Hancock, on Monday, July 1, 2019, at 11 a.m. with Pastor Jesse Aho to officiate.

Visitation with the family will be from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service at the church.

Burial will follow at the Lake View Cemetery in Calumet.
