Michael J. Kangas
HANCOCK — Michael J. Kangas, 42, a resident of Hancock, passed away on Sunday, June 16, 2019, at home, following a lengthy illness.
He was born on December 2, 1976, in Hancock, a son of the late George and Patricia (Laingren) Kangas Sr. Mike attended the Hancock Schools and was a graduate of the Houghton High School.
Mr. Kangas had worked as a maintenance person for Copper Country Mental Health for numerous years.
Mike enjoyed fishing, buildings models, watching movies & wrestling on TV, and going to the Houghton County Fair, watching the Demolition Derby.
Preceding him in death were his parents and his four-legged buddy, Snuggles.
Surviving are his brother, George Kangas Jr. of Hancock; his sister, Cindy (Scott) Kela of Boston Location; his nieces, Nikki (Ben) Fredinalli and Krista Kela; numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins; and his pet, Missy.
A private graveside service for Mike will be held at a later time in the Forest Hill Cemetery of Houghton.
