Rosalyn M. Latvala

Rosalyn spent the vast majority of her life in the Copper Country, a place she was happy to call home. She worked hard all of her life and spent much of it taking care of others.

Her family and friends were her greatest joy. She loved people and always had a smile for everyone. A favorite of hers, was to play a game of bingo with friends, win or lose, she was there to enjoy it with everyone. She enjoyed going for drives around the U.P. and exploring. She always had something good to say about everyone. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

Rose was preceded in death by her husband, James (Jim) Latvala (1997); daughter, Denise Latvala (1998); and grandson, Michael Latvala (2006).

She is survived by two sons, Darrin Latvala and Darrel Latvala (Gale); brother, Jerry Hekkinen; brother-in-law, David Latvala; step sister, Arlene Kella; dear friend, Mary McMahon; two grandsons, Jesse Latvala and Oakley Latvala; and a granddaughter, Margaret Latvala.

Cremation service is being handled by Ryan’s funeral home of Calumet.

A Memorial Service will be held by the family at Lake View Cemetery Chapel (located off the main office building) next Wednesday, June 26, 2019, from 1 pm – 3 pm.

Friends and family who wish to commemorate Rosalyn are welcome to attend.
