Isabelle Lillian Rule

HANCOCK — Isabelle Lillian Rule, 85, of Hancock, passed away on Friday, August 2, 2019, at the Houghton County Medical Care Facility in Hancock.

She was born in Hancock, on June 26, 1934, to the late Thomas and Annie (Phillippi) Rule. She was a graduate of Hancock High School in 1955, where she was a member of the girl’s basketball team.

She was employed for a short time at the Coffee Cup Cafe in Hancock, before beginning her 38 year career as a hospital kitchen worker at St. Joseph Hospital in Hancock. After retirement, she traveled around the country.

She enjoyed working in her gardens, and was known to be a kind and loving person.

She is survived by her best friend, Doris Peltier of Ripon, Wisconsin, and by other distant relatives.

Graveside services will be held on Thursday, August 8, 2019, at 10 a.m. at Lakeside Cemetery in Hancock with Rev. Scott Lindenberg of the First United Methodist Church of Hancock to officiate.

Funeral arrangements are being handled from the O’Neill-Dennis Funeral Home of Hancock.
