Joan M. Gibson

TIFFIN, OH — Joan M. Gibson, 79, of Tiffin, passed away on Tuesday, July 30, 2019, at Bridge Hospice Care, Findlay, Ohio.

She was born on January 12, 1940, in Hancock, to John and Irene (Laurin) Masters.

On June 27, 1959, she married Thomas “Red” Gibson, and he survives in Tiffin, Ohio.

Survivors also include her three children, Cindy (David) Miller of Tiffin, Ohio, Thomas Gibson, II of Tiffin, Ohio, and Julie (Chris) Iler of Findlay, Ohio; and five grandchildren, Matthew (Rachael) Miller of Findlay, Ohio, Christian Miller of Tiffin, Ohio, Megan Gibson of Columbus, Ohio, Christopher Iler of Findlay, Ohio, and Nickolas Iler of Findlay, Ohio.

She was preceded in death by her parents, four brothers, and a sister.

Joan graduated in 1958 from Hancock High School. In addition to being a homemaker, she was employed for fifteen years at the Tiffin General Electric plant.

She enjoyed her card club, animals and also singing and playing the guitar. Prior to her marriage, she was locally known as an amateur singer along with her only surviving brother, Ronnie. She won her first talent show when she was only twelve years old and subsequently began to sing on the local radio frequently throughout her teen years.

Friends may visit with the family from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. on Sunday, August 4, 2019, at Hoffmann-Gottfried-Mack Funeral Home & Crematory, 236 S. Washington St., Tiffin, Ohio 44883, (419) 447-2424.

There will be no service and burial will be private.
