Charles James Sliger

COVINGTON — Charles James Sliger, “Little Charlie”, 51, of Covington, passed away on Monday, September 23, 2019, at his home with his family by his side.

He was born January 26, 1968, in Ironwood, son of Charles F. “Big Charlie” and Helen (Tarvainen) Sliger. Charlie graduated from Marquette High School. He liked camping, fishing, atv riding, and cooking. Charlie worked in logging and more recently as a cook at Hardwood Steakhouse and The Ford Center in Alberta. He was a member of Bethany Lutheran Church.

He is preceded in death by his mother, Helen Sliger.

He is survived by his father, Charles (Shar) Sliger of Covington; sons, Caleb and Seth Sliger of Covington; daughters, Casey Sliger of Kalamazoo, and Cierra Sliger of Covington; siblings, Wendy (Dave) Facchinello and Amy Makinen of Ramsay, Randy Hedman of Ironwood; girlfriend, Cindy LaFernier of Covington; and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.

A graveside service will be held on Monday, September 30, 2019, at 11 a.m. at the Covington Cemetery with Rev. Richard Little officiating.

A luncheon will follow at the VFW Post 8945 in Covington. The Jacobson Funeral Home is assisting the family.
