Larry Karppinen

Larry was born on April 27, 1967 to Ronald and Carol Karppinen. He graduated from Jeffers High School and worked as a painter throughout his adult life. In 1987 and 1990 he welcomed and raised his two beautiful daughters who were his pride and joy.

Larry shared the past 25 years with the love of his life, Lori Nordstrom of Houghton, her two children Stacy and Jacob, and their special grandson, Brooks. They enjoyed their years together camping, going to the beach, and exploring the Copper Country. He was an avid hunter, and enjoyed watching football and playing pool.He is preceded in death by his daughters, Laura and Stephanie; father, Ronald; Carol’s life partner, Greg; and twin brother, Terry.

Larry is survived by his mother, Carol; his granddaughter, Audriaunna; his brother, Michael, and numerous aunts, uncles, neices, and nephews.

Friends and family are invited to a Celebration Dinner of Larry’s Life at the South Range VFW on Friday, October 18, from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m.
