David F. Pini

BOOTJACK — David F. Pini, 77, passed away on March 13, 2020 at the Lighthouse at Hancock, where he was a patient for approximately two months.

He was the son of Eugene and Margaret (Mongeau) Pini; he was born in Lake Linden on September 8, 1942.

He attended and graduated from Lake Linden-Hubbell High School and from Northern Michigan University.

David worked for Copper Country Homes for a number of years, then he owned and operated Dave’s Home Improvement Center in Mohawk. Later, he moved the business to Lake Linden, where he operated it for several years until his retirement.

He loved building and remodeling. He was very talented and could make or fix anything; and he enjoyed doing it.

David was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Paul; his sister, Carol LaFore; and his beloved dog, Buddy.

He is survived by brothers, Eugene Jr., John (Jody) of Lakewood, California, Robert of Weatherford, Texas, Jerry (Penny) of Lake Linden; sisters, Lillian (Robert) Lang of Lake Linden, Louise (Larry) Manzetti of Westfield, Wisconsin, Margaret Sue Jones of Fairview, Ohio, Alice Schmitt of Lake Linden, Mary (Roger) Isola of Lake Linden, Doris (Jim) Manzetti of Oconto, Wisconsin; sister-in-law, Kathy Pini of Lake Linden; and numerous nieces and nephews.

The Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11 a.m. on Saturday, March 21, 2020 at Saint Joseph Catholic Church in Lake Linden with Fr. Joseph Boakye Yiadom to officiate.

There will be no public visitation. Spring burial will be at the Mount Calvary Cemetery in Lake Linden.

The Pearce Funeral Home in Lake Linden is in charge of arrangements.
