Duane William Andler

CALUMET — Duane William Andler, 75, of Calumet, passed away peacefully on March 13, 2020 at the Omega House surrounded by his family and extended family.

He was born on July 5, 1944, in Duluth, Minnesota, the son of the late Lillian (Laine) and Fred Andler. He attended Duluth Central High School and served in the United States Navy for four years. He worked for the Army Corps of Engineers for 32 years, retiring in 2003.

Duane loved to fish with his buddy, Al Holman and also liked to four wheel. He especially enjoyed his new found family, Tyson, Cameron, Dawson and Brynn Kauppinen.

He is survived by his wife of 39 years, Dottee (Dorothy) Gasperich; his best friend, Russell Kangas; and his three dogs, Oreo, Freeway and Pugsley. He was also survived by brothers-in-law, Leland (Jeanne) Gasperich, Michael (Susan) Gasperich, sisters-in-law, Laurel LaBelle and Claudia Munyon; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. Especially Kenny and Donald Larson.

We would also like to thank the staff, nurses, and CNAs and volunteers for the best fourteen months he was blessed to have.

At Duane’s request there will be no public service. A celebration of life is planned this summer. Ryan Funeral Home is serving the family.
