Amanda E. Mountjoy

She was born September 7, 1920, in Atlantic Mine, a daughter of the late Henry and Hilma (Nikula) Maki, and was a 1938 graduate of the Painesdale High School.

She was married to William Mountjoy who passed away in June of 1999. Amanda worked at Gartner’s Department Store in Hancock and also did seamstress work.

She was a member of Grace Lutheran Church of South Range.

Amanda is survived by a son, James of South Range; as well as several nieces and nephews.

Besides her parents and husband, she was also preceded in death by a son, William; a daughter, Virginia; four brothers, Edwin, William, Matt and Albert; and three sisters, Hilda, Anna and Martha.

There will be no public services. Burial will be in the Atlantic Mine Cemetery. Arrangements are being handled by the Mountain View Mortuary of South Range, Antila Funeral Service, Inc.
