Dennis Thomas Massie

He was born on May 2, 1960 in Hancock, MI son of Raphael and Frances (Hilgers) Massie. Dennis graduated from Baraga High School in 1978. He then went to truck driving school and received a CDL. Dennis worked as a machinist for Massie Manufacturing for about 20 years until becoming disabled.

Dennis had a kind heart and a gentle soul. He enjoyed camping, fishing, hunting, playing horse shoes, and being with friends.

Surviving are his brothers, David (Sue) Massie of Baraga, John (Cindy) Massie of Keweenaw Bay, Mark (Linda) Massie of Baraga, Peter (Becky) Massie of Arnheim, Dale (Lorraine) Massie of Baraga, Tom Massie of Keweenaw Bay; sisters, Mary (Doug) Tervo of L’Anse, Susan Timm of Gregory, SD, Kathleen Koski of Baraga; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins; and a very good friend Mike LaRose of Keweenaw Bay.

Preceding him in death are his parents; brother Robert “Bob” Massie; and sister Patricia Kimball.

Visitation will be on Friday, December 4th from 12-1:00 p.m. at Jacobson Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. with Pastor Jim Janofski officiating. Burial will be in the spring in the Baraga Cemetery.

There will be a luncheon following the services at the Keweenaw Bay Fire Hall.
