Emma Faye Glover

HERMAN TOWNSHIP — Emma Faye Glover, 95, long-time resident of Herman, passed away at Bayside Village in L’Anse, on November 24, 2020.

Faye was born on October 2, 1925, in Milford, Michigan, the only child of Leon Vern and Ona Dort (Post) Smith. After spending her childhood in Milan, Michigan, her family moved to Duck Lake, Highland Township. She was a 1943 graduate of Milford High School. In 1946, Faye married Thomas Morgan Glover and together they raised four children. In the early 1960’s, the family moved from Detroit to the Upper Peninsula and spent many years enjoying country life at “The Farm” in Herman.

She was preceded in death by her husband Morgan and sons Bill and Gary.

She is survived by her two daughters, Gail (Nigel) Juntunen of L’Anse and Wendy (Martin) Juntunen of Ishpeming. She was “Grams” to nine grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, and two great-great grandchildren, Jaxon and Aubrey Faye.

Grandchildren include Susan (Andy) Defabis of Chandler Arizona, Julie Glover of Grand Rapids, MI, and Christine Machado of Manassas, Virginia; Joe (Jemison) Glover of Lancaster California, and Jan (Gene) Williamson of Palmdale, California; Hilary Bloch of Marquette, Ian (Katie) Juntunen of Sault Ste. Marie, Hannah Juntunen of L’Anse; and Erin Juntunen of Marquette.

Faye is also survived by two sisters-in-law, Betty Donaldson of Grosse Ile, and Sandra (Don) Reynolds, of Byron. Preceding her were three brothers-in-law, Donald Glover, Russell Glover, Norman Donaldson and sister-in-law Emma (Glover) Collins.

At Faye’s request, there will be no funeral. Burial will be in the Herman Cemetery. In lieu of customary remembrances, donations may be made to L’Anse United Methodist Church.
