Linda M. Luoma

CALUMET — Linda M. Luoma, 68, a resident of Calumet passed away on Tuesday, December 29, 2020, at Canal View-Houghton County.

She was born on August 13, 1952, in Laurium to Leonard and Ellen (Lassila) Hill. She and her family moved to the Bessemer area when she was a young girl. She graduated from A.D. Johnston High School with the Class of 1970. Following high school, she attended Northern Michigan University and obtained her LPN degree in 1973.

Linda worked as an LPN for 36 years at Houghton County Medical Care Facility, retiring in 2011.

She enjoyed gardening and planting flowers. She also enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren.

On April 8, 1978, she married David Luoma at the First Apostolic Lutheran Church of Calumet.

She was a member of the First Apostolic Lutheran Church of Calumet.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Leonard and Ellen Hill, her sister Beverly Frantti, Brother Greg Hill, sister-in-law Anni Hill, brother-in-laws, James Frantti, and Richard Roepke.

She is survived by: Her spouse: David of Calumet; Her sons: David (Jennifer) Luoma of Calumet; Neil (Brelyn) Luoma of Howell; Brent (Leanne) Luoma of Two Harbors, Minnesota; Ross Luoma of Calumet; Mark Luoma of Williston, North Dakota; Her grandchildren: Caeden, Brant, Beckett, Jax, Wes, Ellia, and Cason; Her siblings: Judy Roepke of Calumet; Leonard (Laura) Hill of Traprock Valley; Gordon (Ruth) Hill of Calumet; John Hill of Calumet; Roland Hill of Calumet; Along with numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

The funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, January 4, 2021, at the First Apostolic Lutheran Church in Calumet with David Taivalkoski to officiate. Friends may call at the First Apostolic Lutheran Church in Calumet on Sunday, January 3, 2021, from 4 to 8 p.m. and on Monday, January 4, 2021, from 10 a.m. until the time of the service.

The family would like to thank Dr. Thomas McConnon and the Staff at Canal View – Houghton County for the excellent care they provided to Linda.
