Kelly P. Pinten

HANCOCK — Kelly P. Pinten, age 78, died Wednesday, March 31, at home with his family. Born in Hancock, on October 5, 1942, to Elizabeth June Trevarthen and John E. Pinten, who along with his brother, John Steven, preceded him in death.

Kelly graduated from Hancock High School in 1962 and moved to Ann Arbor, where he worked for Ford Motor Company and was a car hauler for numerous years.

He married Virginia Coon on December 26, 1964, and they had two children – Timothy (Lisa) Pinten of Maybee, and Sarah (Matthew) Stuk of Pinckney.

Kelly enjoyed fishing with his son on Lake Superior and loved watching his children and grandchildren play sports. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Tucker Pinten, Erin Stuk, and Norah Stuk; his in-laws, Ethel Cartter, Ralph Coon, Frank (Idella) Coon, Shirley (Jake) Skewes, Dean Eddleman and Howard (Sharon) Coon; and numerous nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends at the Nie Funeral home at 3767 W. Liberty Rd, Ann Arbor, MI, on Wednesday, April 7, from 5-8 p.m. A funeral mass will be held on Thursday, April 8, at 11 a.m. at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church on 2250 E. Stadium Blvd, Ann Arbor.
