Raymond William Bellaire

BARAGA — Raymond William Bellaire, age 61, of Baraga, passed away on Monday, January 17, 2022, as a result of an accident at work.

Ray was born October 18, 1960, in L’Anse, son of Richard and Elizabeth (Jarvey) Bellaire. He was raised in Baraga on the family farm on Bellaire Road, the area known as Section 12.

Ray first met his wife Roxanne Heath in 1971. When they were in high school they fell in love. A love that never ended. Together they raised their two sons, Phillip and Robert Bellaire.

He was employed by Erickson’s, Pettibone, and Besse Forest Products.

Ray was an avid hunter, he loved fishing, four-wheeling, bowling, card games, and gambling. He and Roxy loved to just get in the car and take a ride with no destination in mind. Ray had many friends and was loved by all.

Preceding him in death are his parents; brothers, Larry and Joe; father-in-law, Jim Heath Sr.; brothers-in-law, Jim Jr. and Jeff Heath.

Surviving are his wife, Roxy of Baraga; sons, Phillip (Jessie White) Bellaire of Pelkie, Robert (Angela) Bellaire of DePere, Wisconsin; grandchildren, Alex, Kiera, Hailey, Becca, Michael; siblings, Margaret Bonilla of Salinas, California, Donna (Frank) Costelli of Holbrook, Arizona, Patty (Dave) DeLisle of L’Anse, Charles (Maggie) Bellaire of Atoka, Tennessee, Cheryl (Jerry) Armstrong of Peyton, Colorado, Norma (John) Domitrovich of L’Anse; mother-in-law, June Townsend of Sebring, Florida; brother-in-law, John Heath of Waukegan, Illinois; sister-in-law, Becky Heath of Baraga; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

A memorial service will be held on Monday, January 24, 2022, at 5 p.m. at Jacobson Funeral Home with Rev. Kelly Ylitalo officiating.

The family will receive friends from 3 p.m. until the time of the service. Food and fellowship will follow at the Baraga American Legion. The Jacobson Funeral Home is assisting the family.
