Barb Perreault

CALUMET – Barb Perreault, 88, of Calumet passed away peacefully at her own home in Centennial, on June 24, 2022. She was born on November 21, 1933, in Fort Worth, Texas, daughter of the late John F. Hamm and Mildred (Faust) Hamm.

She married Clifford R. B. Perreault on June 28, 1952 in Fort Worth, Texas.

Barb loved to pick berries, and established Barb’s Favorite Jams and Jellies in Centennial. In business for over 50 years, she sold many kinds of jam flavors, harvested from wild and tame berries and fruits from the Keweenaw Peninsula, most famous of which was her Thimbleberry Jam and chow chow. Her shop also featured her crafts, handmade quilts, wall hangings, and a wide assortment of hand knit and crocheted specialty items.

Barb was also a Traveling Nurse’s Aide, working for the Upper Peninsula Health Department until her retirement.

Barb was an avid bowler, bowling in leagues for over 50 years at Miller’s lanes. She liked to watch pro and college sports, but her favorite was always the Dallas Cowboys. Generous in her donations to local charities, she was also a 4H leader for many years.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her youngest son, James and her husband of over 50 years, Cliff, her sisters Billie, Martha, and her brother John Charles.

Surviving are children, Jennie, Homer, (Becky) Carolyn (Charles), George, (Sheila) Roger, Clifford (Darci); sisters, Johnnie, Wanda, and brother, James; grandchildren, Linda (Mike), Dave, Christopher (Barb), Samantha (Aron), Amanda (Mike), James (Sarah), Daniel, (Ashley) Nicole, Sarah, Jessica, Jason (Adria), Sara (John) and Nathan; 23 great grandchildren; two Great great grandchildre and numerous nieces and nephews.

Friends may call from 1 – 3 P.M. Friday July 1, 2022, at the Erickson Crowley Peterson Funeral Home in Calumet, with funeral services starting at 3 at the funeral home. Burial will be at the Calvary Cemetery in Ahmeek.
